2nd Quarter and First Half 2026 Results
•Strengthening of rental activities in Greece and abroad, offset by a lower contribution from the car sales activity to revenue and profitability
•First half revenue at €501 million, EBITDA at €129.7 million, up slightly by 2.6%, and net profit after tax at €28.5 million, down 12.3%
Autohellas Group announces its financial results for the second quarter of 2026, with Revenue amounting to €280.1 million, recording a marginal decrease of 2% compared to the corresponding period of 2025. EBITDA reached €78 million, up 0.6%, while Profit after Tax amounted to €29.1 million, down 7.4% compared to the corresponding period last year.
For the first half of 2026, Revenue amounted to €501 million recording a marginal decrease of 0.3% compared to the first half of 2025. EBITDA reached €129.7 million, showing an increase of 2.6%, while Profit after Tax amounted to €28.5 million, down 12.3% compared to the corresponding period last year.
Overall, the short-term and long-term rental activities in Greece and the other countries where the Group operates comprise a fleet of nearly 68,700 vehicles, with investments in approximately 13,400 new vehicles during the first half of 2026.
Furthermore, the Group’s Total Equity stood at €556.5 million as at 30 June 2026. In April 2026, the Company distributed a dividend of €0.85 per share, amounting to a total distribution of €40.8 million to shareholders.
Analysis by activity segment:
Car Rentals in Greece (Hertz)
The Car Rental activity in Greece maintained its positive momentum during the first half of 2026, recording a 6.7% increase in Revenue to €146.6 million.
Growth was primarily supported by long-term rentals, driven by increased demand from corporate customers for leasing and fleet management services. At the same time, short-term rentals recorded more moderate growth, maintaining, however, strong profitability for yet another year, despite the expansion and increase in the overall fleets operating in the market.
Despite the positive revenue performance, profitability was affected by higher depreciation charges, reflecting the fleet expansion of previous years, which supports the business’s future growth.
International Activity of Car Rentals (Hertz)
Revenue from the International Activity related to Car Rentals amounted to €87.3 million compared with €78.9 million in the first half of 2025, representing an increase of 10.6%.
The subsidiary in Portugal recorded significant revenue growth compared with the first half of the previous year. In terms of net results, however, the business remained loss-making in the first half, primarily due to seasonality, given that Portugal is the only market in which the Group does not engage in long-term rental activities.
In the Balkan and Cypriot markets, revenue increased by 5% compared with the first half of the previous year, driven equally by long-term and short-term rentals. Operating profitability, however, decreased by 11%, mainly due to the performance of the Cypriot market, where lower demand during the first five months of the year, as a result of geopolitical developments in the Middle East, adversely affected revenue.
Car Trade and Services
During the first half of 2026, the activity of Car Trade and Services in Greece recorded a 6.6% decrease in Revenue, contributing a total of €267.2 million to the Group’s Revenue. The decline was attributable, on the one hand, to the product cycle of Hyundai and KIA, which is expected to be strengthened in 2027 with the launch of major new models, and, on the other hand, to the entry of a large number of new brands into the Greek market, mainly from Chinese manufacturers. These new brands are gaining significant momentum, adversely affecting the market shares of traditional manufacturers.
It is noted that the activity of Italian Motion (FIAT/JEEP/Alfa Romeo) which is not included in the Consolidated Revenue (equity method), recorded sales of €85.3 million during the first half of 2026.
Since late 2025, Autohellas Group has already begun introducing and positioning the Changan and XPENG brands in the Greek market. Over the next 6 to 12 months, the Group’s brand portfolio is expected to expand further with the addition of the brands LEPAS, through Italian Motion, as well as AVATR. Based on the scheduled launches of new models by the brands represented by the Group, the Group’s aggregate market share is expected to begin recovering from the second half of 2027, further strengthening its overall car trade activities.
