SEAT in Greece

SEAT TECHNOCAR has had the exclusive right to import and distribute SEAT vehicles in Greece since 1985. It was acquired by Autohellas in 2015. Autohellas is listed on the Athens Stock Exchange and is a member of the larger Th. Vassilakis Group which operates, inter alia, in the air transport industry through the listed company AEGEAN.

SEAT internationally

SEAT is by a long way the largest car manufacturer in Spain. It was founded in 1950 by the Instituto Nacional de Industria (INI) of Spain and is today a subsidiary of the German Volkswagen group.

SEAT’s roots go back to 22 June 1940, when the private Banco Urquijo founded the Sociedad Ibérica de Automóviles de Turismo (SIAT), the precursor to SEAT with the ambitious aim of becoming established as Spain’s national car manufacturer, a plan that was later to be undertaken by the Instituto Nacional de Industria (INI).

With headquarters in Barcelona, the SEAT plant at Martorell is one of the largest in Europe, with an annual production of over 500,000 vehicles. In fact, the extremely successful and impressive AUDI Q7 was designed and developed in this very same plant.

The advanced technology, sporty design and driving comfort that SEAT offers have made it one of the most dynamic brands in both the Greek and the global market. The success of the brand can be seen in the continuous rise in sales over the past few years.
